Herbert Hunter has had all his teeth taken out upstairs . I mean all his upstairs teeth .
After comparing notes with Glen Rowley and with Mildred , Shogren we are all agreed that hell is a place where they have the teethache all the while .
Sometimes a drink of cold water will stop a teethache and sometimes it will not . But Bunshop Tiffany can sell you a little package of stuff that will . In it is a pair of tweezers and two toothpicks and a little bottle of medicine and a little box of ab- sorbent cotton . The whole costs only a few cents .
Roy Bruckman has married Nina May . Sweet young thing- worked in Spitler's Music Store . But she was Roy's idea of a Bel- gian rose . And she is exactly our idea of the type of girl that would appeal to Roy's rotund ruddiness .
Makes me think of something that happened a week or two ago . Roy took the bobs and took Nina out to Fr. Emmerich's for in- structions and while they were in the parsonage someone took Roy's team home and brought back Bruckmans ' balkiest old horse hitched to a single sleigh and tied it in the same place . Roy start- ed for Hart with Nina but it was impossible for Roy to make the balky old skate come past his home barn . And Roy had to un- hitch and change teams .
I went into Ray Ardis ' grocery store and he had some ferment- ed grain on top of a cracker barrel for Exhibit A in the famous moonshine whiskey case . The officers brought in 50 gallons of whiskey mash from the farm of Ignass Banniss in Moortown and this much spilled over the top of the barrel onto the dray . The drayman gave the stuff to Ray Ardis and Ray put it on the crack- er barrel . All customers who bought 10c worth or more of mer- chandise were permitted to have one smell of the fermented grain in lieu of trading stamps .
The Brooker girls , Alithea and Norma , are having a wrangle over the back part of the dictionary trying to find a name for the baby girl which has arrived over at Frank Schmidts ' . It's their own little cousinlet .
Thelma Raynor had a job on her hands Christmas day , amus- ing her cousinlets from Crystal Lake .
The great wrestling match in Shelby was short and sweet . Irving Near won from Harold Ruckel so quick that he hardly knew it happened . When it started the people began to get up on their chairs . And they never got there . It was all over with before they could lift their feet onto their chairs . And then there is the case of tender hearted La Vina Lyttle . After the preliminaries when the main combatants came fircely forth LaVina said : " I am going to get out of here , I don't want to see the carnage . " But she never got out of the opera house door .

Adelaide Wise and Virginia Leshner skipped away from Pentwater the othar day be- cause it seemed so dull under ihe leaden sky and went dawn to Hart to visit high school . And the verdict of the adventurers was that Hart seemed deader than Pentwater . They had the good fortune to sit across the aisle from Tex Buchen who volunteered them a few crumbs of information about the life of the great metropolis , saying : " Now there is Juanita Wallace . She is a nice little girl but the only time a boy ever gets his arm around her is when he is dancing with her . " And things like that .

" ARMENIA "
Think of those little children
Tired , hungry and cold-
They were driven from their fire - place
By the Germans cruel and bold .
They are looking toward America For food , for fuel , and clothes We must take them into our homes Or they will die with hunger and cold .
We must set a place on the table For at least one poor little child For if we don't they will perish Away from the earth so mild
The children are forever crying
For they have no food today .
Just think ! When they walk through our gates , They will smile that cry - away .

Parson Kent retired early but at eight o'clock his keenly train- ed ear sensed the coming of a bride and groom . His dutiful wife , under one pretext or another , cautiously kept them waiting until her long suffering husband had time to " change his necktie ? " Now when a perfectly respectful minister of undisputed integrity re- tires for the night at six o'clock , and two hours later , upon being called down stairs to officiate at a wedding , cooingly informs his dutiful wife as he descends the stairs , that he is simply changing his tie , there is only one of two conclusions to arrive at ; either the good man has formed the deplorable habit of sleeping in his clothes or else , in his haste to encourage the marriage habit , he ties a knot in his pajamas .
